BLACKSMITH EXPERIENCE
LEVEL: APPRENTICE
STUDENTS REQUIRED: 2-4Ready to get your hands dirty? Our one-day Blacksmith Experience is the perfect introduction to the tools and techniques fundamental to making hand-forged ironwork the traditional way.
From preparing the forge to starting the fire, we'll have you shaping hot metal in no time.
And by the end of the day, you'll leave with two completed pieces (e.g. fireplace tools, bottle opener, small candle holder) to take home and show off to your friends and family.

AXE MAKING
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
STUDENTS REQUIRED: 2-4Whether it’s bushcraft, camping, or splitting logs out back, it’s better with your own axe. Just is.
So join us on one of our most popular one-day classes to design & make your very own.
As an intermediate-level class, we ask that all students have a good level of general fitness and, ideally, experience of using hand tools or previous blacksmithing experience.

KNIFE MAKING 101
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
STUDENTS REQUIRED: 2-4Join Richard on this traditional forging day where he'll guide you through making your very own Yakut or puukko style bushcraft knife.
Using our coal-fired forge, you'll learn to grind, harden and temper knives on this intensive, one-day introduction to the world of bladesmithing.

BUSHCRAFT TOOLKIT
LEVEL: ADVANCED
STUDENTS REQUIRED: 4Fancy making your very own bushcraft survival kit using traditional forging techniques? We have just the thing for you...
An intensive, 3-day course, combining the best of our axe and knife making classes with a bushcraft tools day to produce your very own bushcraft survival toolkit.
You'll be working closely with Richard to make a small hand axe, a bushcraft knife, a fire spoon, a traditional firesteel and an awl. We'll also throw in some leather cord and fatwood to send forth all our frontiersmen ready for anything!
This one’s pretty full-on, so there’s a cap of four students per class.

INTENSIVE SKILLS WEEK
LEVEL: ADVANCED
STUDENTS REQUIRED: 2If you’re really looking to break into the world of blacksmithing, Intensive Skills Week is where you sharpen your technique.
Tailored specifically to your level of experience and area of interest, we focus on core skills including fire management, tool making and basic heat treatment of carbon steels, fire welding, power hammer work and decorative forgework.
This one’s pretty full-on, so there’s a cap of two students per class.
